Welcome to My Personal Page
Hello to all my family and friends,
As many of you know I was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease in 2009, my symptoms really started many years before. Knowing something was going a bit haywire in me I finally decided to get some answers when I retired. Candidly I was devasted with the news I got, as everyone is when they first get bad news, but fortunately I found a wonderful Movement Disorder Health Center at the Norman Fixel Institute for Neurological Diseases and support at UF. They became my lighthouse in a storm.
I have been fortunate with a slow progression of the disease so far but there are so many others from all age groups and walks of life that have PD and other movement disorders that are suffering from significant impairment. We need to find a cure not only for today's sufferers but for our future generations, our children and grandchildren. Sadly and unfortunately I suspect many of you have family members, friends, or coworkers that are also impacted by Parkinson's Disease or one of many other movement disorders. These diseases also have tremendous physical, emotional, and financial impact and burdens for their caregivers that we need to support.
Great progress is being made everyday but that only happens with funding these advances, pharmaceutical studies/tests as well as educational and support programs. Please help with whatever donation you can make to the Walk for Parkinson fundraiser for all of Central Florida on Saturday, April 2, 2022. If you can donate please donate under Team Carl on the attached link. You don't need to attend to help but if you are interested in doing so the event will be held at Cranes Roost Park in Longwood, FL. You can also start your own team or become a sponsor. See details below.
